Some parables are original stories written by The Parable Teller. Others are re-tellings of ancient and contemporary tales.
Stories are chosen to be relevant to everyday life, to provoke thought, and to inspire action.
The English word parable is derived from the Ancient Greek parabole, which literally means "to cast alongside" or "a beam of light alongside". Parables are stories to cast alongside your life. They illuminate your journey, your life's story. They help you make sense of the past, seek meaning in the present, and find direction for the future.

The Mystery of StoryAccording to legend, if you listen to the whispers of the wind, she will tell you an ancient rumour. Hidden in a cave on a secret island is a manuscript of scrolls containing the mysteries of life. Anyone who obtains these scrolls and corrently interprets them will surely die. Life's secrets cannot be spoken.
Instead, the mysteries have seeped into stories. If you listen carefully to every story you are told, dwelling with the story and allowing it to infuse your inner being, you will begin to hear echoes of life's secrets. You will not know the answers, but you will sense the path you should follow.
Listen carefully, then, to the stories you find here, especially those that resonate with you. Dwell with those you feel a connection to, and retell them, choosing your own words. These stories can become woven into your story. They can mingle with your destiny.
Remember, all stories can be true. Listen to them deeply, and they will cast their truth in your life.
